"Besides being near my family, I chose Barrington Horizon because it was a comfortable complex with only three floors of apartments, villas, elevator, huge laundry rooms, trash chutes, storage, easy-to-use exercise room, computer room, library, game and community room, craft area, mailroom AND loads of activities. What more could one ask for? Even though we have our own fitness room, we can join the local health club just across the way. Everyone has so many choices here. I like the fact that the building is very private but friendly – everyone always smiles at each other and help is always available if you need it. And, we are lucky that we have a property manager who is very attentive to the residents."

"I have been a resident of Barrington Horizon since they opened in 2006. The building manager and other residents have made me feel very welcome. This retirement community has many amenities, including a community room with full kitchen, library, computer room, exercise room, game room, big screen TV and laundry rooms on each floor. There is a beautiful gazebo, patio tables with chairs, and a large BBQ grill to enjoy outside. I am a happy resident of Barrington Horizon and plan to be for many more years to come."

"I am thoroughly enjoying living at Barrington Horizon. My experience moving from a seven-room house to a one-bedroom apartment has been a unique experience but I have found that downsizing has helped me sort out my priorities. I actually love the ease of living on one floor and have found the laundry and garbage disposal facilities to be very convenient. Joan, our Property Manager, is always pleasant and helpful and is like an old friend. Meeting new people has been a pleasant and interesting experience and has helped me expand my ‘horizons’."

"After my stepfather passed away, moving my mother to Barrington to be near my family was the only acceptable option. We thought finding just the right living arrangement would be a challenge as Mom had not lived alone in over 40 years. When I heard that Alden was breaking ground on a senior apartment building in Barrington, just minutes from my home, it was almost too good to be true! In June 2006, Mom became one of the first residents at the new Barrington Horizon. Joan, the property manager, did all she could to make the transition as smooth as possible for Mom and us. After her first year at Barrington Horizon, Mom is all settled into her new home. Thanks, Alden, for all you have done and continue to do for my Mom!"

"I was very concerned about placing my elderly and very Italian mother in unfamiliar surroundings since she had spent the last 55 years in her small town home. Because an acquaintance of mine was managing Barrington Horizon and it was close to my home, I decided to give this senior community a try. I am happy to report that my mother has adjusted beautifully. We couldn’t ask for a better living situation and the living quarters are very nice, clean and always orderly. And, there are so many amenities. The Property Manager has done an extraordinary job at organizing and involving the tenants in all of the various activities available.
